Paying it forward

Alan Neuman of Fort Myers helped young people pursue their dreams of obtaining higher education.

He did so out of his own pocket and in secret for more than 30 years.

Alan, 70, passed away of pulmonary fibrosis last spring. After his death, the former director of Southwest Florida Workforce Council’s good deeds came to light.

His family formed the Alan W. Neuman Foundation to honor his memory and provide a scholarship fund for local students as a fitting legacy to a man who put such a value on education.

The British American Club of Southwest Florida invites the public to join them to celebrate the Brit Bash Christmas Party and honor Alan on Friday at the Clarion Hotel in Fort Myers.

This British Invasion themed event is a fundraiser to benefit The Alan W. Neuman Foundation. Tickets cost $30 and include hors d’oeuvres, a formal dinner, dessert and live entertainment with the New Vinyls, Southwest Florida’s premier British Invasion band.

A silent auction will be held featuring rock and roll and sports memorabilia presented by Touched By The Stars with featured items autographed by the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart and other music icons.

December 9, 2010 – Fort Myers, FL -This year the British American Club of Southwest Florida invite the public to join them to celebrate the Brit Bash Christmas Party, Friday December 17th at the Clarion Hotel in Fort Myers. This British Invasion themed event is a fundraiser to benefit The Alan W. Neuman Foundation, which assists local young adults gain scholarships for higher education to improve their lives.
